Romanian National Gambling Office

Gambling has long been legal in Romania. The first major organisation to offer gambling services was the Loteria Romana, the country’s national lottery, which was established in the early 20th century. The first casino in the post-communist era opened in 1991, with many more following suits over the next few decades. Despite gaming has long been quite a popular pastime in the country, for quite some time there was never really a central organisation that specialised in regulating the gambling activities of people living in the country. Since becoming established a few years ago, the Romanian National Gambling Office has had a very positive effect on the country’s gambling industry.
