New Collaboration Of UK Gambling Commission National Strategy Now Involves The Support Of GREO

Over the course of this year, the UK Gambling Commission has worked towards support to scheme to help players across the country who may be suffering from gambling disorders. The scheme is named the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms. Now, further assistance has been gathered in the event, with the help of the Gambling Research Exchange known as GREO. This separate research regulator will be offering their data to the UK Gambling Commission to help further this cause to help others.

Treating those who are already sufferers and raising awareness on the issues are the main objectives for this campaign. This new deal made will involve both organisations combining their efforts into creating a programme that will detail new activities and knowledge to help accomplish this goal.

Trudy Smit Quosai is a researcher from GREO who offered her first official statement on the matter. The comment stated: “We are thrilled to announce our work as part of the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms”. Further statements involved the inclusion of some of the best researchers in the world to help put their minds together and solve these rising issues affecting the online gambling community, creating new strategies that can move forward in the development of treatments and preventions.

The main areas that GREO will be looking into is the laws and policies that surround the protection of gambling disorders. Not to mention, they will also be looking all over the world for new business partners that can further the studies and see examples of other cases from other countries.

Executive Director, Tim Miller, issued the following comment: “GREO is a well-respected independent research organisation with a wealth of experience in gambling research and dissemination”. The power and influence these two forces have, there will be high expectations developing from the results of what they find. The future of gambling health and safety could change thanks to the results that they bring to the table in 2019.
