New Partnership Agreement for Integration Agreed on by IBIA and MGA

21 Dec 2019

A new deal has been made with two official licencing companies that have both supported online casinos for many years. The International Betting Integrity Association, also known as the IBIA for short, has agreed to an official partnership with the Malta Gaming Authority. The IBIA and the MGA have combined their services to form the Sports Integrity Unit. The purpose of this new service will be to protect and secure the betting integrity of sports betting services in casinos. This helps prevent corruption of the gambling and protect the customers that use them.

The CEO of the IBIA, Khalid Ali, talks about the new agreement and what it means for their party. “For its part, IBIA will utilise its unique global betting monitoring system, which includes many of the largest MGA licensed operators, to provide information on suspicious betting to the Unit with the aim of preventing sports betting related corruption”. They are fully grateful for the opportunity that has been presented to them, thanks to the MGA. This will give them full access in tackling the match-fixing issues that have proven to be most noticeable in the past.

The new officer in charge of the Sports Integrity Unit, Antonio Zerafa, has been appointed this position after his previous work with the MGA. He says how proud he is to join in the fight against sports betting manipulation and to prevent future scammers from taking advantage of their systems. With the help of the leading voice against gambling crimes, IBIA can deliver exertional assistance with reaching out on a more global scale. This gives Antonio the power to dive deep into the world wide web and root out the causes of such cases.

High-level policies will be quickly developed following the partnership, sharing information and research with each other to quickly respond to potential threats.
