On December 3rd and 4th at the Resorts World Manila casino resort, takes place the G2E Asia @ the Philippines which is a conference as well as a casino trade exhibition. On Tuesday, the Pagcor CEO (and the chairman of Pagcor), Andrea Domingo, made a report. In her speech, she affirmed that there had been a brief cancellation of the prohibition on new casino licences in Clark zone. Ms Domingo also admitted, however, that according to Pagcor, Clark has enough casinos.
Andrea Domingo noted that this had been a special case. She further added that they were improving the transport system as well as airports and seaports. However, people who were coming would also like to get amusements and entertainment.
Ms Domingo emphasized that some reasons of limiting the licences were to prevent problems for investors. She told the audience that they would like all those who got their licence to have a chance of being successful. And that can be achieved by not investing in overcrowded places.
The Pagcor CEO also reported about POGOs (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) that owned a license of Pagcor. She stated that as far as POGOs were concerned, they [Pagcor] had also stopped the acceptance of new applicants. Ms Domingo observed that they had learned 90% of offshore gaming sector. She also added that by 2020 the authorities of the country would have addressed up to 97% of the issues with POGOs.
When asked about POGOs tax-evading deadline, Andrea Domingo noted that POGOs had to comply and they [Pagcor] were already working on it. She also added that they [Pagcor] have good relations with all the law agencies of the country.
