Gambling Revenue for Pennsylvania Skyrockets Thanks to Online Gains

19 Dec 2019

Continued profit and respectable revenue increases have made Pennsylvania a top contender in the gambling industry, experiencing a double-digit growth to its overall revenue since the beginning of November. It is said that these improvements have been made possible thanks to the continued contributions of increased online gambling and sports betting services.

The research conducted by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, also known as PGCB, shows that the growth has been a tremendous impact on the market. Up to $292 million have been made in November, marking it as a steady and impressive 13.2% increase from November last year.

Both sports betting and online gambling have made the biggest impact on this current growth. Sports betting operators have seen the biggest rise from last year with a new record of up to $316.5 million in total revenue. That is an impressive 31.2% increase since October last year. When it comes to the actual betting service, this came only slightly lower than the average score since October, ranking up to $14.7 million in revenue. However, the digital betting services have been reported to have made 84% of the overall outcome.

What helped grow the market in the online gambling area was the addition of two new operators who are still working to this day. The two new partners are DraftKings and Kindred Group’s Unibet. Their connection to The Meadows casino and Mohegan Sun Pocono has helped create welcoming opportunities for growing the target audiences and bringing in new customers. Meadows themselves were ranked fifth in the charts, netting a total of $18 million. Pocono only ranked with $4.3 million, which places them seventh in the leader board.

Other land-based casinos have been reported to add to this improved revenue also. Casinos such as Valley Forge Casino Resort and two new Rush Street Gaming brands were among them, helping add to the increased profits with over $149.7 million.
