Synot Group, a software developer for online gambling, received certification to release its products in the Portuguese market. The licence was granted by the Serviço Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos do Turismo de Portugal (SRIJ). With this added licence, they can now expand the number of territories to offer their casino games, either directly or through licensed gambling operators, or with game aggregators in the online gambling industry.
The permit was issued in July 2019 by the national regulator, and it also allows Synot to start working with the already existing gambling operators in the country. This permit comes after the provider also received its permit from Sweden. It has only been a week since the Synot Group was granted permission to operate in Sweden when the licence to operate in the Portuguese market also arrived.
Prior to being granted to operate in Sweden, Synot Group first entered the Denmark market. With three new territories where it can operate, the group is gearing towards expansion in the south European market over the coming months. The CEO of Synot, Ivan Kodai, said that Portugal was an important territory for the group and that it marked the group’s entry to the Iberian Peninsula.
According to the CEO, this grant from the SRIJ underscores the company’s commitment to further expand in other regulated markets. It is the CEO’s belief that the company’s diverse gaming library offers a great selection of games to Portuguese players.
Synot Games also has a licence that comes from the Malta Gaming Authority. Apart from this, the game developer is allowed to operate in other markets like the UK, Italy, and Spain. This new licences from Sweden and Portugal take the company a step further to fulfil its plans of expanding its operations in south Europe.
