Betknowmore and Young Gamers & Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM), the two top charities in the UK, have teamed up to introduce a new sensitization program by the name “Safer Gambling Training”. The purpose of this new curriculum is to start offering staffers within the betting sector professional online training that will lead to boosting player security standards and efficiently protect customers from any gambling-related harms.
The YGAM-Betknowmore partnership brings together professional knowledge, first-hand experience and research to establish what has been hailed as the most sophisticated and most innovative training programs across the globe. The curriculum consists of six interactive digital modules that address critical issues such as the employee’s mental health, identifying harm, customer interactions, vulnerability and protection.
On the word of YGAM and Betknowmore, the new resources are created via a procedure referred to as ‘flipped learning’, which comes from Neuroscience methodology on how the human brain learns. The two charities also said that all the training material fulfills the Gambling Commission’s newest LCCP terms and conditions, and it will be getting financial support from regulatory settlements. This effort is aimed at fulfilling the UK’s National Strategy to Reduce Gambling-Related Harms.
Furthermore, the Responsible Gambling Council, which has its headquarters in Canada, will also take part in the alliance but as independent evaluation partners.
In separate statements, the Chief Executives of YGAM and Betknowmore expressed their enthusiasm over the launch of the new program, indicating how it will help foster a safer gambling environment across the UK, by training industry staff using an advanced curriculum.
