RTP, or Return to Player, is a percentage that shows how much a slot is expected to pay back to players over a long period. It’s calculated based on millions or even billions of spins, so the percent is accurate in the long run, not in a single session.
In casino games, the ‘house edge’ is the common term representing the platform’s built-in advantage. For example, it is about 0.5% in blackjack, meaning the casino holds 0.5% of all bets over time.
RTP is the key figure for slots, working opposite the house edge and showing the potential payoff to players.
Let’s consider the example:
The Book of Dead has an RTP of 94.25%. It means that for every $100 bet, you can expect to receive $94.25 back in the long run. The remaining $5.75 is what the casino keeps.
